Meet the Artist

meet-the-artistVicki Fox writes, “I love nature and I love making art. These are the two pillars of my creative output. When I am in nature, forms I see inspire me to gather sticks, stones, rocks, pods and glass. I am also comfortable creating sculpture, some functional, some just aesthetically pleasing, challenging. The reflective quality of mirror so often repeats the mirror of water in nature – I’m fascinated with these possibilities to bring it into the home.

I’m happy as long as I get to have my hands expressing what is in my heart, what my vision brings into my soul. The pieces I make are inspired by the nature forms I see in my everyday work as a landscape designer – branches, leaves, flowers, stones.”

Background

Vicki Fox has had a broad artistic experience in the fields of graphics and design, as well as a passionate focus on Rustic Woodworking, clay works, painting, drawing, and jewelry design. She has exhibited her works of art – paintings, sculpture and jewelry, in locations throughout the USA.

From 1996 until 2008, Vicki was the owner of a landscape design company, Green Team Gardeners, LLC. The company created and installed new garden beds, renovated existing gardens and maintained numerous gardens throughout the Delaware Valley (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York).

In 2008, she sold her Philadelphia business and home and moved to Hancock, Maine where she built a log home and studio. Green Team was re-established and she now designs and cares for gardens in the Hancock, Ellsworth and Mount Desert Island areas. She splits her time between making art and her professional gardening.
